What are the FamilySpaces Planning Panels™ made from?

Our Planning Panels™ are made from premium layered acrylic — a solid white base with a clear acrylic top layer.
The design is permanently sandwiched between the layers, so it will never fade, scratch, or rub off, no matter how often it’s used.

What pens can I use on the board?

Any standard whiteboard marker works perfectly.
We include three whiteboard pens with every board, so you’re ready to use it straight away.

How do I clean the board?

Simply wipe with a soft cloth or paper towel and water.
Even writing that’s been on for a while comes off easily — no sprays or chemicals needed.

What sizes are available?

We currently offer two sizes:

• Premium – 900mm × 600mm (ideal for busy family hubs)

• Compact – 600mm × 430mm (A2 size, great for smaller spaces)

Both sizes are available in English or Te Reo Māori.

Do you make custom boards?

Not at this stage.
Right now, we’re focused on refining and expanding our core range — but new designs and products are in the works.

Where are your boards made?

Our boards are designed in Aotearoa New Zealand and carefully manufactured offshore with trusted partners who meet our strict quality standards.
Every board is quality-checked to ensure it can handle real family life.

Are your boards available in Te Reo Māori?

Yes — all of our Planning Panels™ are available in both English and Te Reo Māori.

Why did you choose to offer Te Reo Māori boards?

When Elizabeth shared early designs with colleagues at Raukawa Charitable Trust, one simple question was asked:
“Can we have it in Te Reo?”

That question mattered.

We worked with local reo expert Charlie Tepana (Raukawa) to ensure every word was accurate, respectful, and culturally appropriate. Offering Te Reo Māori isn’t an add-on for us — it’s part of who we are.

How do I place an order?

Orders are placed directly through our website.
Simply head to the shop, choose your size and language, and follow the checkout steps.

What comes with my Planning Panel™?

Each FamilySpaces Planning Panel™ comes with everything you need to get started, based on the size you choose:

Premium Planning Panel™

• 3M adhesive strips (strong, renter-friendly wall mounting)

• Screw-top fixings (for permanent wall installation)

• Three whiteboard pens

Compact Planning Panel™

• Magnets for fridge mounting

• 3M adhesive strips for wall mounting

• Three whiteboard pens

If you’d prefer to screw a Compact board into the wall instead of using adhesive, you can request screw fixings when ordering.

Do I need tools to install the board?

• No tools are needed if you use the 3M adhesive strips or fridge magnets.

• Basic tools are required if you choose to screw the board into the wall (e.g. a drill or screwdriver, depending on your wall type).

Clear instructions are included so you can choose the option that works best for your space.

Are the boards magnetic?

The writing surface itself is not magnetic — our boards are made from acrylic.

However:

• The Compact Planning Panel™ includes magnets so it can be mounted on a fridge.

• The Premium Planning Panel™ is wall-mounted using adhesive strips or screw fixings.

How secure are the 3M adhesive strips?

When installed according to the instructions, the adhesive strips are strong, secure, and designed not to damage walls — making them a great option for renters or anyone who prefers not to drill holes.

Once in place, the board should not move or slip under normal family use.

Can I change how my board is mounted later?

Yes. Many families start with adhesive strips and later switch to screw fixings once they’re confident about placement.
We recommend taking time to position your board before choosing a permanent option.

Long-Term Care Tips

To keep your FamilySpaces Planning Panel™ looking its best:

• Wipe clean with a soft cloth. For stubborn marks, add a small amount of water. A tiny drop of mild soap is fine if needed.

• Avoid harsh cleaners or abrasive pads (including ammonia sprays), as these can dull the surface over time.

• When storing, keep the board out of direct sunlight and away from extreme heat or cold.

With simple care, your Planning Panel™ will stay clear, durable, and ready for everyday whānau life.

How do I install my Planning Panel™?

Each FamilySpaces Planning Panel™ includes clear printed instructions, and you can choose the installation method that suits your space.

Your installation options

• 3M adhesive strips
  A strong, renter-friendly option with no holes required. When installed as instructed, they hold securely and won’t leave marks.

• Screw-top fixings / stand-offs
  For a permanent wall mount using the pre-drilled holes in the board. This option requires basic tools.

Can I put the board on the fridge?

Yes — the Compact Planning Panel™ (A2) is designed to fit most fridge doors.

• Use the included magnets for fridge mounting

• Or use 3M adhesive strips for a secure wall mount

If you’d prefer to screw a Compact board into the wall instead, you can request screw fixings when ordering.

Installation Guide: Screw-Top Fixings / Stand-Offs

What you’ll need:

• Planning Panel™ with pre-drilled holes

• Screw-top fixings or stand-offs (barrel + cap)

• Screws and wall anchors (for plasterboard, brick, or concrete)

• Drill, screwdriver, level, pencil or masking tape

Step-by-step:

1. Plan your placement
   Hold the board against the wall, check it’s level, and mark the hole positions.

2. Drill the holes
   Drill at the marked points and insert wall anchors if required.

3. Fix the mounting barrels
   Secure the barrel section of each fixing to the wall. Check they’re level and firm.

4. Position the board
   Align the board with the mounted barrels.
   (Optional: use rubber washers to reduce stress on the acrylic.)

5. Secure the caps
   Screw the caps into the barrels through the board.
   Tighten by hand only — do not overtighten, as acrylic can crack under pressure.

⏱️ How long will my order take?

Orders are typically dispatched within 2–3 working days.

Once your order is on the way, you’ll receive a tracking link so you can follow its journey.

During fundraising campaigns or busy periods, dispatch times may vary slightly — we’ll always keep you informed.

🔄 Do you offer returns or exchanges?

Yes — if your board arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and we’ll make it right.

✏️ Can I change or cancel my order?

If you’ve ordered the wrong board or need to make a change, please email us at
support@familyspaces.co.nz as soon as possible.

We’ll always do our best to help, but changes may not be possible once an order has been packed or dispatched.

💰 How much is shipping?

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and order size.

We work hard to keep shipping fair, transparent, and reasonable, with no surprise costs.

📍 Do you offer local pickup or delivery?

At this stage, we don’t offer local pickup.

All orders are shipped directly to you, or delivered as part of an organised school fundraiser where applicable. This helps us keep things running smoothly and ensures every order is handled with care.

Can I order in bulk for my organisation, whānau, school or early learning centre?
Yes — we’d love to chat. Please email us to arrange a short meeting so we can understand your needs and recommend the best option.

I heard you run fundraisers for schools or early learning centres — is that right?
Yes, we do. We partner with schools and early learning centres to run simple fundraising campaigns that support families at home.
