What are the boards made from?
Our Signature Series boards are made from layered acrylic — a white base and a clear top. The layout is printed on the back of the clear layer, so it will never fade or rub off.

What pens can I use on the board?
Any whiteboard marker will work — and the writing comes off easily with just water.

How do I clean the board?
Use a soft cloth or paper towel and water. It should come off quickly and easily, even if it’s been there for a while.

What sizes are available?
We currently offer two sizes:
Premium – 900mm x 600mm
Compact (A2) – 600mm x 430mm
Both are available in English and Te Reo Māori.

Do you make custom boards?
Not at this stage — but we’re working on new designs, so stay tuned!

Where are your boards made?
Our boards are designed in Aotearoa and carefully manufactured offshore, using trusted partners who meet our quality standards.

Are your boards available in Te Reo Māori?
Yes! All our boards are available in both Te Reo and English.

Why offer boards in Te Reo Māori?
When Elizabeth shared the early designs with colleagues at Raukawa Charitable Trust (where she works), one of them asked if they could have theirs in Te Reo. That request planted a seed, and we knew we had to make Te Reo Māori boards part of our range. We worked with a local reo expert, Charlie Tepana, in Raukawa, to ensure every word was correct and culturally respectful, and our bilingual series was born.

How do I place an order?

What comes with my board?
Each board includes:

• 3M strips (for easy mounting)

• Standoffs and screws (for permanent mounting)

• Three whiteboard pens

  Everything you need to get started straight away.
  

Is the surface magnetic?
No, our boards are made from acrylic and are not magnetic; however, we are working on accessories to add more functionality.

To keep your FamilySpaces board looking its best for years to come:

• Clean regularly using a soft cloth and a mild soap-and-water solution.

• Avoid harsh cleaners like ammonia sprays or abrasive materials — these can damage the surface over time.

• Restore shine with a plastic-safe polish if you notice light marks or dullness.

• Store carefully — avoid direct sunlight or extreme heat/cold, especially during storage.
  

  With a little care, your board will stay crystal-clear and ready for the whānau plan, week after week.

How do I install my board?
Each board comes with two simple installation options — full instructions are included:

• Use the pre-drilled holes and standoffs for a permanent wall mount.

• Or stick it up using the included 3M strips — no holes needed, and they won’t leave marks.

  You will get instruction sheets with each order, and we will also have a video tutorial up on YouTube soon, and will include a link here once this has been completed. Below though, is a quick guide on how to install with Stand-Offs.
  

Can I put the board on the fridge?
Yes — the Compact board (A2) is designed to fit on most fridge doors. Use the included 3M strips for a secure hold. We are currently sourcing magnets to fit the A2 boards.

Installation Guide: Acrylic Organisers with Metal Standoffs

What You'll Need:

• Acrylic organiser with pre-drilled holes

• Metal standoff sets (barrel, cap, and washers)

• Screws

• Power drill + drill bits

• Wall anchors (for plasterboard, brick, or concrete)

• Screwdriver

• Level

• Pencil or masking tape for marking

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Plan the Placement:

• Hold the acrylic organiser against the wall in the desired position.

• Use a level to ensure it's straight.

• Mark hole positions on the wall through the organiser's mounting holes.

Drill Mounting Holes:

• Remove the organiser and drill holes at the marked points.

• Insert wall anchors if you're mounting into anything other than solid wood.

• Attach the Standoff Barrels:

• Take the bottom part of each standoff (the barrel).

• Use the supplied screw to fasten the barrel to the wall.

• Ensure the barrels are secure and level.

Position the Acrylic Organiser:

• Carefully align the acrylic holes with the mounted standoff barrels.

• Optional: Insert soft rubber washers between the acrylic and metal to prevent cracking and reduce stress.

Secure with Standoff Caps:

• Place any top-side washers (if provided) over the holes.

• Screw the standoff caps into the barrels, through the acrylic.

• Hand-tighten until firm. Do not overtighten - acrylic can crack under pressure.

We currently ship throughout New Zealand. For international shipping, please contact us.

How long will my order take?
Orders are usually dispatched within 2–3 working days. You’ll receive a tracking number once it’s on the way.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?
Yes — if your board arrives damaged or faulty, we’ll sort it out. Just get in touch within 14 days of receiving your order.

Can I change or cancel my order?
If you’ve ordered the wrong board by mistake, please contact us at support@familyspaces.co.nz as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help.

How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and order. We’ve worked hard to keep our shipping costs fair and reasonable, so you can be confident that delivery won’t be over the top.

Do you offer local pickup or delivery?
If you’re in the South Waikato, you’re welcome to DM us and arrange to pick up your board directly.

Can I order in bulk or for schools/childcare centres?
Yes — please email us to set up a quick meeting and discuss your needs.

Do you take stockist enquiries?
Absolutely! If you’d like to stock our boards in your shop, get in touch and we’ll set up a time to chat.
